Fresh Skin

What is it?

Medical Microdermabrasion uses a highly controlled flow of fine, medical grade crystals to remove the dead, outermost layer of skin. This skin exfoliation process reveals the new, living skin cells that are soft, smooth and receptive to nutrients.

Diamond Skin abrasion uses a diamond-polishing wheel with less vacuum therefore suitable for more sensitive skins. They treat:

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Sun Damaged Skin
  • Acne prone skin and acne scars
  • Blackheads and whiteheads
  • Superficial age spots
  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Oily Skin
  • Dry or Patchy Skin

Results Achieved

Many clients notice improvements in the texture and appearance of their skin immediately after the first treatment. The long-term benefits of multiple procedures can be remarkable. Optimum results for your skin can be obtained through a course of treatments, typically four to six sessions, which are spaced fourteen days apart. You should see visible improvements in approximately four weeks.

A course of medical microdermabrasion will result in a glowing, smooth, even and bright complexion.

Common Queries Regarding This Procedure

How does it work?

The clinician uses a hand piece that passes over the skin. This evenly removes the outermost layer of the skin. At the same time, the underlying epidermis is stimulated by the abrasion and vacuum. This promotes new collagen, which thickens the dermis and improves resistance to the effects of ageing.

How long does it last?

The procedure is 30 minutes and longer if combined with Vitamin C peel and LED therapy

For whom is it suitable?

Medical Microdermabrasion does not use chemicals during the procedure and is therefore suitable for all skin types. It is however not recommended for patients with a high red colour or broken capillaries as the vacuum can
exacerbate the redness, although in this situation the diamond skin abrasion can be used safely.

Can it be combined with other treatments?

Yes – it enhances aesthetic injectable treatments. Stimulated skin improves the quality of the skin, thus improving the ‘canvas’ for injectable treatments to be more effective.

It can also be combined with peels and light therapies, all of which complement each other. A very popular combination is with a Vitamin C Peel.

Another amazing add-on is LED phototherapy to help programme the skin cells.

Is it sore?

It isn’t sore. It is quite abrasive and there is a vacuum on the skin. Most clients describe it as an abrasive, but satisfying sensation.

What is it used to treat?

Used to treat dull, tired skin that is prone to outbreaks.

What is the recovery time?

Only slight redness, similar to the effect of exercise. The skin recovers very quickly, within an hour.

You have to avoid the sun because there is an increased risk of skin damage to the new skin that is exposed. You must use sun protection.
