Lip Enhancement

About This Procedure

Lip filler is one of the most popular treatments we provide and whether you want a subtle or more noticeable effect, everything is possible.  The lip area can completely transform your face. For younger people, it’s about getting their desired look and once your skin begins to age, lip filler can be the most amazing rejuvenating treatment,  without having to give you ‘big lips’.

It is a gel-like substance which, when injected into the lips can define the shape, increase the volume and contour downturned corners.  The results are visible instantly!

Common Queries Regarding This Procedure

Is it sore?

This is a very commonly asked question. A good application of our anaesthetic cream takes any discomfort away.  The lip of course is a very sensitive area and we take extra caution to care for your comfort.

How long does the result last?

The procedure is repeated every 3-6 months to maintain your desired result. Although each individual metabolises the Hyaluronic Acid Dermal filler product differently. Therefore some clients may get longer and others require a repeat treatment sooner than 6 months.

For whom is it not suitable?

People who suffer hypertrophic or keloid scarring.

  • Pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Some auto-immune conditions
  • Blood coagulation disorders

A full medical history and assessment is carried out for every patient to ensure suitability for treatment.

Are the any cautions/contra-indications?

Skin infections

Cold sores

Is it safe?

There is always a risk from having dermal filler injected into the lips.  This risk is reduced significantly when carried out by experienced practitioners in a HIS registered clinic who take a careful health history and use the appropriate injecting techniques.

The practitioners must also be able to dissolve the product should any complications arise.

Are there any risks or side effects?

Common side effects are bruising, redness and swelling.  The biggest risks occur from inexperienced injectors with poor knowledge of anatomy. Make sure you have these treatments in an HIS regulated clinic; and ensure the practitioner knows how to deal with complications and can dissolve the product if necessary.

Do not do anything too strenuous or energetic on the day of treatment and refrain from touching or applying make-up because it increases risk of infection.
