5 Common Skincare Concerns and How To Treat Them

We have so many customers who often come into our 'Fresh Skin Clinic' who feel stressed and concerned about the health of their skin. When our skin doesn’t look the way we want it to - it can have an effect on our confidence, self-esteem and even cause anxiety. Our skin experts often hear the same skincare concerns so we are here to explain the most common ones we hear day-to-day and how you can treat them so you don’t have to stress!

Acne

Acne is caused by the sebaceous glands secrete the oily, waxy substance called sebum. The function of sebum is to keep your skin healthy by providing a protective layer over the skin, however when there is an excessive amount of sebum produced by the skin it can be bad for the skin which can often result into breakouts.

Treatment:

We can treat active acne with a number of treatments, each method the aim is to prevent infection. We need to control the skin’s production of oil (in excess) and helping to reduce inflammation and minimising the risk of scarring. We find that using treatments such as the Murad oil control system or ZO acne control system works very well with mild to moderate acne. For moderate to severe acne, we would tend to use a more advanced treatment such as Blue LED therapy.

Ageing Skin

Ageing can be intrinsic – e.g caused by the genes that we inherit from our parents. It can also be caused by various external factors including sun exposure, stress, diet, smoking etc.

It is true that the natural ageing process can’t be avoided but if you look after your skin properly by following a daily skin care routine you will have a better chance of slowing the natural ageing process.

Treatment:

If you are looking for an immediate fix to reduce the appearance of wrinkles there are a number of treatments we provide. All of these treatments aim to not only bring about a visible improvement in the skin but they also aim to prevent and delay the natural ageing process.

The top treatments that we would recommend are:

Anti-wrinkle injections

Dermal Filler

Laser skin rejuvenation

Skin Peels

Pigmentation & Sun Damage

Sunlight is a rich source of Vitamin D which is beneficial for the skin in moderation, however, overexposure can lead to numerous health-related problem and skincare issues. Pigmentation is usually a skincare concern which is caused by sun damage. It often won’t present until many years later after the skin has been damaged and can also be stimulated by hormones.

Treatment:

Depending on the extent and type of pigmentation one of our consultants will examine the skin and advise which treatment would work best for you. There are usually two main aims of our treatments which are to reduce the visibility of dark patches and suppress the activity of melanocytes. We also offer treatments that will protect your skin from the sun to prevent further damage.

Here are some of the treatments we offer:
